Dear fellow bookworms, welcome to my book blog: Ghifari’s Notebook!
My name is Abi Ghifari, a bibliophile who lives in Jakarta, Indonesia. Just in case you’re wondering why is the blog title, the Notebook sure does exist! I have several notebooks to write down my reading list and all of my thoughts about books, about literary world, and about reading activities in general. I’m a little bit ‘old-fashioned’ when it comes to writing and note-taking. Even though I already use applications such as Goodreads to track my reading accomplishments and write book reviews and Evernote to write my random thoughts or book quotes, I can’t be separated from my physical notebooks and prefer to write my long thoughts in there. Sometimes, I would also write notes on my books by using post-its.
This blog is bi-lingual: English and Indonesian (Bahasa). I’m trying to share my thoughts and have a discussion with international readers but on the other side I intend to capture Indonesian fellow readers as well. Majority of posts in this blog are written in Indonesian. However, I’m planning to write more in English.
I love all books, but of course as a mere human being I have preferences. My favorite reading is literature: classic and contemporary. I enjoys novels more, but I also do read poems, short-stories, and plays. Besides the works of fiction, I also adores non-fiction in form of memoirs, essays, biographies, scientific reports, and historical and socio-cultural investigations.
